Requirements
The Santander X Global Award is designed for University Scaleups; this means that it is required to have an official link to a university-affiliated with Santander Universities. Please make sure your project meets at least one of the following requirements:
- A co-founder is a student or a university graduate from the last 5 years.
- A co-founder is actively collaborating at a university (professor or researcher).
- The team is developing the project at a university (research center or incubator).
- The project has participated in an initiative published in the Santander X Platform.
The University Scaleup Category is made for high-impact projects looking to accelerate their growth. Please make sure your project meets the following requirements:
- At least one product or service launched to Market.
- Legally incorporated.
- Annual revenue between US$50K –US$500K.
- At least 1 co-founder should be a fluent English speaker.

If you were invited to the University Scaleups category, this means you're one of the highest-potential innovators in your country and have already gone through one of the most challenging parts: 0 to 1! Now is the time to accelerate your growth and show what you're made of at a world-class stage.
Applying is easy, but the selection process is extremely competitive. Each team will have to upload a video-pitch to the Santander X platform for it to be evaluated by 3 international entrepreneurship experts. Only the best will be selected to participate at the Santander X Global Award.
The participating teams will receive personalized mentorship and coaching to prepare a pitch to a local jury of innovation & entrepreneurship leaders who will provide essential feedback and select the finalists that will earn a ticket to the final event. Additionally, teams will get coverage with our media partners so you will have international exposure and find more strategic allies that will support your cause worldwide.
The top 11 Scaleups will be invited to pitch at the heart of MIT in front of a jury of investment and entrepreneurship global leaders and an audience full of investors, mentors, and other successful entrepreneurs that could enrich your network.
