  • Requirements

Startups/Scaleups must show solutions that meet at least one of these three objectives:

    Finance for Youth

In some regions of the world, the 15-24-year-old segment of the population is at a point of rapid growth as a workforce, which translates into a great opportunity to accelerate their economic growth: ensuring healthy lives, promoting education and lifelong learning, creating jobs, improving social safety and reducing inequality.

    Finance for Elderly

People over 65 are the fastest-growing segment of the world's population. Their role in society and the economy must also become more relevant, but to do so, their inclusion in the digital economy needs reinforcement. We must adapt education, healthcare, and social protection systems to provide a social safety net for this growing age group and include them in the digital economy.

    Finance for Unbanked

The access and use of financial products raise great challenges in the face of the thousands of people who are outside the financial system.

    • An innovative solution with the capability to scale (incremental, breakthrough, or transformational).
  • General information

Helping people and businesses prosper is at the heart of Banco Santander’s mission, which includes ensuring access to banking products and services to all members of our society.

Financial inclusion is key to reducing inequality and creating new opportunities; we need to think about how not to leave anyone behind. The online world is here to stay and its changing behaviors, needs, and will require us to evolve; and as an essential part of any digital solution, user-centricity requires cutting-edge technological innovation.

That is why we are launching the Santander X Global Challenge I Finance for All. A new global competition for startups and scaleups with innovative and scalable solutions that adapt to demographic changes and create a long-lasting social and economic impact for millions of people worldwide.
